Okay, Wisconsin!
You guys just elected a liberal to the Supreme Court, and then you go and do something like this.
We gave you the story on Friday of Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan being arrested for allegedly concealing an illegal immigrant and allowing him to exit through the jury door to prevent his arrest by ICE.
And now the judge has been suspended by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
In its two-page order, the court said it was acting to protect public confidence in Wisconsin courts during the criminal proceedings against Dugan. The order noted that the court was acting on its own initiative and was not responding to a request from anyone. Liberal justices control the court 4-3.
‘It is ordered ... that Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah C. Dugan is temporarily prohibited from exercising the powers of a circuit court judge in the state of Wisconsin, effective the date of this order and until further order of the court,' the justices wrote.
Dugan's team, of course, says she's innocent, and she will have her day in court. However, she's already been replaced for an "indefinite" period. Let's hope that period goes on forever.
I'm glad the liberal-controlled Wisconsin Supreme Court came out so strongly against this judge here. Honestly, I never expected such a thing.
Judge Dugan, you messed around and now you're finding out.
