Mad respect for our paisanos over in the motherland:
Italy's lower house of parliament gave final approval for a law banning the use of laboratory-produced food and animal feed on Thursday as angry farmers confronted a group of centrist lawmakers opposed to the bill.
The proposal, already approved by the upper house Senate, passed by 159 votes in favour to 53 against, prohibiting the use, sale, import and export of food and feed "from cell cultures or tissue derived from vertebrate animals".
Is it at all surprising that the country that created ragu Bolognese would ban disgusting chemical-grown fake-meat junk?
In the U.S., regulators have been a bit more sanguine about this, to say the least, although thankfully consumers are quite literally not buying it:
Still, advocates are not going to let up easy with this whole disgusting petri dish charade:
Plant-based meat is a simple solution to climate woes - if more people would eat it
Ahhh, that magic word: "If." Too bad, fake meat bros!
