It's a pretty reasonable unspoken rule that no motorcycle chase from the cops ever ends well.

Via NBC:

An off-duty sheriff's deputy jumped into action and brought an end to a high-speed chase of a motorcyclist wanted in connection with the killing of a fellow deputy Monday afternoon in Southern California.

The chase began after San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy Andrew Nunez, a 28-year-old father, was shot in the head when responding to a domestic violence call. The suspect reportedly opened the door and opened fire on the officer.

Responding deputies were fired upon by the suspect, who immediately initiated a "high-speed chase" on the 210 Freeway. Incredibly, the suspect "at times reached speeds of 150 mph-plus." At times, the man waved his Gen 3 Glock 17 handgun at officers.

That chase came to an end when "an off-duty deputy drove a Toyota Camry" into the suspect's motorcycle.

Here's footage of that absolute boss ramming maneuver:

Let's put it on replay.

Another angle:

The suspect hasn't yet been identified, though police say charges will come down against him soon.

Gov. Gavin Newsom, meanwhile, "ordered flags at the State Capitol be flown at half-staff after the killing of Nunez:"

'His courage, compassion and dedication to protecting others reflect the finest traditions of law enforcement,' Newsom said in a statement Monday night.

We'll update you when California authorities ID the suspect.
