Fentanyl is the number one killer of young Americans right now (though the Chinese-made 'Rona virus did a number on older Americans too). In 2021, of the 87,736 Americans aged 18-45, almost half (48,344) died of accidental drug overdoses ... and 42,678 of those deaths involved fentanyl.
Around 40,000 Americans are still dying yearly from this inansely addictive and powerful drug.
Before 2019, the vast majority of fentanyl flooding into the U.S. was made in China. The CCP finally cracked down, but it still allows the precursors (materials needed to made the drug) to be shipped en masse to the Mexican cartels, which then traffic it across the U.S.-Mexico border.
China is big mad that Trump is going to put a 10% tariff on the cheap goods made by Uighur slaves using the patents that were stolen from Americans.
After all, the deal was that we'd outsource our jobs, bankrupt our towns, flood the market with cheap drugs to numb the pain, let China buy up our farmland while they're colonizing huge swaths of Asia, Africa, and South America, and let the ChiComms give 10% to the Big Guy so he'd look the other way.
But now we have a president who doesn't want to slowly let the Chinese Empire crush us slowly into obsolescence. We have a vice president who saw the ravages of drugs and poverty thanks to politicians who have sold out their countrymen for the last 30 years.
We aren't putting up with it anymore.
What Hegseth is quoting there is a principle echoed by many throughout history, such as St. Augustine.
We go to war that we may have peace. Be peaceful, therefore, in warring, so that you may vanquish those whom you war against, and bring them to the prosperity of peace.
China says it wants peace and complains about trade wars while also building a military that is specifically designed to beat America (more from Hegseth on that here).
The CCP is used to wagging its finger and getting Western leaders to comply. But we're done with that.
Absolutely done.
