Back in June, Oregon man David Ray Allen saw some guys who he suspected to be car thieves hovering around his vehicle. And while he could have done what a normal person would and called the police, Allen thought to himself, "Here's my chance," and popped back inside to grab his homemade hand grenade.

This happened in the middle of the night in Florence, and acording to ABC affiliate 9News, things went pretty much the way you would expect them to when the words "homemade hand grenade" are being thrown around.

Let's just say when Allen finally did call 911, the call was made using only one hand (yes, he'd lost part of his forearm and hand).

Allen said the grenade exploded in his hand as he tried to throw it at the suspects. Police found charred cardboard, human flesh, a burnt fuse, and a lighter at the scene.

It gets worse. Allen is charged with unlawful possession and manufacture of a destructive device and disorderly conduct.

It doesn't sound like the thieves got away with his car, but it does sound like instead of 10 and 2, Mr. Allen will be using more of a noon or 6 technique from here on out.
