Too bad the "experts" say we're about to die from the Trump tariffs, because this sounds like some actual good news for the American people.
Let's see ... when you're expected to bring in 140,000 jobs and instead you make 228,000 ... I think we can call that an absolute win.
Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Friday showed 228,000 new jobs were created in March, more than the 140,000 expected by economists, the 117,000 seen in February, and the 158,000 average monthly gain seen over the last year.
The unemployment rate rose to 4.2% from the 4.1% seen in the prior month.
Jobs were created, but unemployment rose slightly. What this possibly means is that lots of people who were DOGE'd may be out of work, or simply that more people are now in the labor market looking for jobs than last month.
As we'll see, labor force participation rate rose, meaning that more people want work now than have in the past.
Wage growth, an important measure for gauging inflation pressures, rose 3.8% over the prior year in March, down from the 4% seen in February.
On a monthly basis, wages increased 0.3%, up from the 0.2% seen the prior month.
The labor force participation rate fell [SIC] rose to 62.5% from the 62.4% seen in February.
More jobs, higher wages, more people in the job market.
We'll see how the tariff wars shake out, but at least Trump has got the American worker headed in the right direction.
And he didn't even need to fudge the numbers to do it! 👇
