Finally.

We've apparently been funding political campaigns, terrorism, and probably Ilhan Omar's anniversary trip with her brother; but that ship has sailed, Somalis.

The Trump administration is ending temporary protection status (TPS) for Somalia, affecting several thousand Somalis currently living in the U.S. and several hundred currently living in Minnesota under the protection.

...

Sources at USCIS told Fox News Digital that there are 2,471 Somali nationals currently in the U.S. under TPS, with 1,383 in the country with pending TPS applications.

Fox tells us 600 Somalis protected by this TPS status live in Minnesota.

And Somalis under TPS will have to leave by March 17.

Why does Somalia have protected status?

Well, in 1991, a full 35 years ago, the country further descended into civil war (which is still ongoing). That apparently meant they needed "temporary" protection for decades and decades.

Joe Biden extended their TPS status again because of course he did.

For now, however, the status has been removed.

We'll meet you right back here in a month when a judge overturns this and all the Somalis get to stay and open up new childcare centers.
