Texas mom Lindsay Stroup is lucky to be alive after she was violently attacked by two pit bulls that she was dog-sitting for a friend. Her daughter, 6-year-old Lily Goligowski, was with her mom and witnessed the attack.

It was only 7:30 in the morning when the two dogs began fighting, and quickly turned on Lindsay. The 6-year-old quickly grabbed her mom's phone and locked herself in the bathroom, where she called 911.

Lily's dad, Thomas Goligowski, told KXII News,

She witnessed her mother on the ground, rolling around, being attacked by multiple dogs with wounds and things of that nature. It's a very intense situation for my family.

While it's incredibly devastating for a 6-year-old to have to witness something like that, it's amazing that the little girl had the presence of mind to get herself to safety and call for help for her mother.

Within a matter of minutes, the police arrived. The dogs attempted to attack the police officers as well, but both dogs were shot, one of them killed on the spot. The police then began to provide first aid before Lindsay was transferred to a local hospital.

Thomas Goligowski went on to say of Lily,

She definitely saved her mom's life.

Lindsay is still in critical condition and has undergone several surgeries since Thursday's attack. According to a GoFundMe set up on her behalf, she is expected to recover thanks to her brave little girls' quick action, but it will be a long road ahead for their family.
