The annual celebration of debauchery in San Francisco, the country's most notoriously debased gay-sex parade, is scrambling for $300,000 after major corporate sponsors have, after years, dropped out.
Some corporations are done being associated with "Pride."
San Francisco Pride's executive director, Suzanne Ford, told the outlet that she was 'really disappointed' by the sponsors' decisions. Sponsors pulling out of the pride event include Comcast, Anheuser-Busch, the company behind Budweiser and Beck's beer; wine company La Crema, and Diageo, a beverage company known for producing Guinness, Ford told KTVU-TV in an interview published March 15.
Would you look at that? The Dylan Mulvaney beer company has now backtracked far enough that they don't want their logo displayed at the most famous Pride celebration on the planet?
(Are you tired of winning yet?)
In addition to Anheuser-Busch, Comcast, the parent company of NBC, is also no longer propping up the gay celebration.
The companies are not confirming that there is any political motivation for dropping the sponsorship, but the folks at Pride think they see through it.
The sponsors all cited a shortage of funds when informing San Francisco Pride that they were backing out of partaking in the 2025 pride events, and none of them mentioned the current political climate in the U.S., according to SFGATE. Still, Ford added that it was 'very abnormal' for several multiyear sponsors to suddenly drop their support for the event.
...
'I just interpreted that companies are making decisions that at this time it's not good to be sponsoring Pride,' Ford told SFGATE. 'I think in this political environment that they thought that was a risky decision. But that's just me reading the tea leaves. I think for a long-term sponsor not to sponsor us, they are responding to what we are.'
Mark this down as the first time I hope the people behind San Francisco Pride are correct.
We're in a much better place as a country if companies are ashamed to sponsor sodomy parades down main street.
