First moral of the story here: Don't get butt implants - or any sort of unnecessary implants for that matter. Second moral of the story: If you do go against the first moral of the story, make sure to see a licensed surgeon for the removal of those implants.

Yes, a Queens woman, 31-year-old María Peñaloza, sadly passed away after undergoing a botched surgery to remove her butt implants. The surgery was to be performed by a man who was posing as a plastic surgeon.

María Peñaloza … went into cardiac arrest and was declared brain-dead last month after a man posing as a plastic surgeon attempted to remove the implants, according to court documents.

Felipe Hoyos-Foronda allegedly performed the operation ‘without a license to do so and while not in a medical facility' on March 28, a criminal complaint from the Queens District Attorney's Office says.

The fake surgeon allegedly administered lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to Peñaloza through a syringe. This resulted in lidocaine toxicity, according to doctors, which caused the woman to go into cardiac arrest before the surgery even started.

Peñaloza was rushed from Hoyos-Foronda's home to a local hospital where she was found to have "no brain activity." Sadly, she has now passed away.

The fake surgeon was arrested while trying to flee the country to Colombia, and was charged with second degree assault and unauthorized practice of profession. These charges came before Peñaloza's death, and the DA's office hinted that they will likely up the charges now that she's passed.

Glad to hear those charges will likely increase, though sadly, it won't bring back María Peñaloza.
