Judge Robin Rosenberg, an Obama appointee, has put out a statement explaining that she will not be releasing the grand jury transcripts for the Jeffrey Epstein case in Florida.
This is in contradiction to the president's request.
From The Hill:
A federal judge in Florida on Wednesday declined the Justice Department's request to unseal grand jury transcripts from a probe into the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
'The Court's hands are tied — a point that the government concedes,' wrote U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg.
Apparently, unsealing grand jury transcripts is not as easy as it sounds.
Here's more from The New York Times:
She ordered that a new case be created 'in the public interest' that provided access to the government's requests and the denial order, as the Epstein grand jury docket is still sealed. But she ordered closed the case where the government filed its request, which started with the investigation into Mr. Epstein in Florida in 2005.
Sounds like another stonewall.
Think we'll ever get answers this side of heaven?
