Plymouth, Michigan, is a deep-blue town that absolutely loves woke policies.

While they were wearing masks at BLM protests for slavery that happened hundreds of years ago, cops say a Hispanic couple was enslaving illegal aliens right under their noses.

Watch:

While most Americans think of slavery in terms of receiving no wages, slavery takes many different forms. Today, the most common form of slavery is international trafficking, where employers lure in migrants with job offers, then take their passports so they can't leave (this is called kidnapping) and offer them the bare essentials to survive while they, the masters, live in $1.5 million-homes.

Look at what kind of Christmas decorations this couple could afford while their indentured servants slept on the floor:

A plumbing plantation!

Because they were using cheap, illegal labor, the couple could stack up their earnings quickly. As it turns out, this is called fraud.

From USA Today:

A wealthy Plymouth, Michigan couple has landed in federal court, accused of hiring more than 200 undocumented immigrants to work at their national plumbing business over the years, and housing many of them in run-down motels and houses β€” all while they raked in $74 million in revenue, according to a new court filing in New York.

That's where Moises and Raquel Orduna-Rios are facing federal charges, including money laundering, following a five-year investigation that started with federal agents spotting one of the couple's company vans outside a motel in Amherst, New York. The agents also encountered β€” and arrested β€” a small group of undocumented immigrants, who explained the van belonged to their 'boss,' court records show.

This operation took place in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and New York where the charges are being filed.

That boss was 36-year-old Moises Orduna-Rios, president of Michigan-based Orduna Plumbing Inc., which also has operations in New York, North Carolina and Ohio. He was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 18, after years of being monitored by federal agents who kept close tabs on his company vans, financial transactions, communications and his illegal workers who made $800-$1,500 per week, and in some cases had their living expenses covered.

When an American company is hired by a neighbor to do a job, that money stays in the community. It pays the local workers, who contribute taxes for the public good and spend the money in local stores.

When you use illegal labor, that money is untaxed and is often sent overseas to benefit the economies of foreign nations. Companies that use illegal labor can undercut competitors, putting more Americans out of work so the owners can live in fancy mansions.

The question that remains: How many more operations like this one are happening all across the US?
