Way back in the early 1900s, a man named Andrew Preston started the Boston Fruit Company, which later became the United Fruit Company, which later became Chiquita.
As it turns out, the banana empire enabled Preston to build this huge mansion in Wenham, Massachusetts.
Commonly referred to as the White House of the North Shore, the Preston mansion is a 15,000 square foot Neo-Georgian brick mansion that boasts 22 rooms, including 9 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, impressive 12-foot ceilings, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, gardens, a 3-car garage, a 2-car garage, and 33 acres of land.
It can be yours to own via auction, thanks to a foreclosure by the last owner, but it comes with a long list of demands, including $75,000 down and a willingness to buy the mansion without looking inside.
That's because the lucky winner will also acquire the squatter who lives in the mansion, and Massachusetts law favors squatters over owners.
Maybe if you're really nice, the current resident will let you use your outdoor pool once in a while.
