This is absolutely nuts.

A Peruvian fisherman who had been missing since BEFORE CHRISTMAS has just been rescued from the open sea.

Máximo Napa Castro survived for 80 days on a two-week supply of food, and then for another 15 days it was birds, turtles, and flippin' cockroaches - yes, cockroaches!

He used rainwater for hydration.

Castro initially planned a two-week trip, but a storm knocked him off course and he wasn't able to correct after that, drifting away some 680 miles off the coast of Ecuador and stranding himself for 95 days.

He kept in his mind a vision of his baby granddaughter, which he says kept him going. He also thought of his mother.

He said of the rescue, "I'm thankful to God for giving me a second chance."
