Yo, this is absolutely wild.

I mean, we've got Iowa putting illegal aliens in school superintendent jobs, and that's one thing, but Kansas may just have topped it.

The mayor of Coldwater, KS, was just charged by the AG for illegally voting as a noncitizen in multiple elections.

Yes, the mayor.

Kansas is electing Mexican citizens on their green cards to run their towns! He may be in the country legally, but as a citizen of another country he's not allowed to vote here.

And hold office? I guess that might come down to the Air Bud rules.

Here's more from KWCH:

'We now have tools, thanks to the current White House, that we haven't had in over 10 years,' said Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab, 'that we can check through the SAVE program, to find out if folks end up on our voter rolls. And they could be a legal resident, but they're not a citizen. We want to make sure that gets clarified.'

SAVE is administered by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It enables government agencies to verify the immigration status and U.S. citizenship of applicants for benefits or licenses.

Kansas is among eight states that have passed laws requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote.

The city council in a statement said that the mayor, Ceballos, has been in the country since 1990 and it was never an issue until he decided to apply for citizenship this year ...

Yes, in the country for 35 years, voting in multiple elections, serving one full term as mayor, and now he decides it's time to apply for citizenship.

The city clarified that Ceballos has been told that he can finish out the two remaining months of his current term, but unless his citizenship is approved during the final stretch of his term, Lenertz will take over as Coldwater's mayor when Ceballos's current term ends.

Lenertz said the news surrounding the charge against Coldwater's mayor will be hard on the community that has been supportive of Ceballos.

'As a mayor, he's done a wonderful job,' she said. 'As a city councilmember, he's done a wonderful job. He's always put our community first in everything he does.'

Yeah, except ... he's not a citizen!

What are we doing here, Kansas?
