What a bozo this guy is!

Texas Longhorns golfer Luke Potter had on Monday gone ten under to win the Hayt Collegiate Tournament, which is quite the accomplishment.

But Potter completely biffed it when he got a chance the next day to attend the Players Championship practice round, heckling Rory McIlroy, who had just hit the ball into the drink.

Attending a practice round of the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, Potter and one of his teammates were watching Rory McIlroy hit a drive off the 18th tee. When McIlroy plopped his drive into the water, Potter quipped β€˜just like 2011 at Augusta,' referencing the golfer's infamous triple-bogey on the 10th hole of the final round of the 2011 Masters that cost himself a chance at a green jacket.

What Rory really wanted to do:

Kid got a big head after that victory.

Rory didn't want to talk about it when the media asked:

The kid did apologize at least, but he's never gonna live this down:

'Look, I just made a mistake, and I take ownership for it,' Potter told GolfChannel.com by phone. 'I apologize for it. That's about all that needs to be said. … It's just a good learning experience. Yeah, I apologize.'

Added Texas head coach John Fields, speaking to Golf.com: 'He's got a hole in his heart. He had no idea that what was coming out of his mouth was going to result in this fashion.'

Sorry, bud, but unless you make it really big -- like Rory McIlroy big -- you'll always just be the guy who heckled Rory McIlroy!
