I'm not sure exactly what happened here but it gave me a good laugh.
NYPD officer: 'I'm sorry Mr. President. I'm really sorry. It's just that everything is being frozen right now. There's a motorcade coming right now. That's why. I'm sorry.'
Macron: 'If you don't see it, let me cross.'
[A few moments later]
Macron, on the phone with Trump: 'How are you? Guess what? I'm waiting in the street because everything is frozen for you. Ha!'
There's no evidence that Macron was told to walk by President Trump as some kind of humiliation ritual. French outlet Brute did note, however, that Macron was forced to walk 30 minutes, which seems like a scathing indictment of the New York officials in charge of logistics and security for high-profile events.
The incident happened on Monday night after Macron gave a speech to the U.N. General Assembly where he formally recognized Palestine as a nation.
Trump is scheduled to speak to the globalists at the UN later today. I assume it will look something like this:
