We've reported on video game company Ubisoft's go-woke-go-broke strategy a few times here on Not the Bee.

And now that they've entered the go-broke part of that strategy (reporting a $185 million loss last year and losing 90% of their company's value), they're sticking it to the gamers that bought their games over the years.

This week the Ubisoft End User License Agreement got a rather shocking update.

Here it is:

The [End User License Agreement] is effective from the earlier of the date You purchase, download or use the Product, until terminated according to its terms. You and UBISOFT (or its licensors) may terminate this EULA, at any time, for any reason. Termination by UBISOFT will be effective upon (a) notice to You or (b) termination of Your UBISOFT Account (if any) or (c) at the time of UBISOFT's decision to discontinue offering and/or supporting the Product. This EULA will terminate automatically if You fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions of this EULA. Upon termination for any reason, You must immediately uninstall the Product and destroy all copies of the Product in Your possession.

That's right.

Should the company stop offering and/or supporting their games, like in the case the company goes bankrupt and has its assets sold, the EULA requires gamers to uninstall the games they've purchased.

While it's no big deal to have to delete their recent woke stuff, a lot of players are already miffed that support is ending for many of Ubisoft's legacy games.

I guess it's just another reminder that digital purchases are only for "licenses" that can disappear in a puff of digital smoke.

Always buy hard copies if you can.
