The thing about TPS (Temporary Protected Status) is that it's supposed to be, you know, temporary.
But apparently the Trump administration is the only presidential administration that realizes that.
This comes after TPS was ended for Haiti and Venezuela, no thanks to obstructionist judges. But I'm sure that no district judge is going to get in the way this time.
'Temporary Protected Status was designed to be just that — temporary,' Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told Fox News Digital. 'It is clear that the Government of Honduras has taken all of the necessary steps to overcome the impacts of Hurricane Mitch, almost 27 years ago.'
Wait ... we let tens of thousands of Hondurans and Nicaraguans stay in our country indefinitely because of a hurricane two and a half decades ago? Is that what I'm seeing here?
Yeah, our entire immigration system is messed up and corrupt, isn't it? The whole thing.
A source at DHS told Fox News Digital that revoking TPS will affect roughly 76,000 migrants currently living in the U.S., with 54,000 from Honduras and 22,000 from Nicaragua.
'The impacts of a natural disaster impacting Nicaragua in 1999 no longer exist,' a DHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital ...

'The environmental situation has improved enough that it is safe enough for Nicaraguan citizens to return home. This decision restores integrity in our immigration system and ensures that TPS remains temporary.'
Yeah, if a storm happened LAST CENTURY I'm pretty sure you've had enough time where your country of origin is ready to take you back.
