Let's follow the logic: Her loyalties are to leftists and their cherished global order that's on the "right side of history," so she has to root for foreign nations over her own nation.
After all, her own nation is made up of smelly hillbillies who voted a different political party into power (how very undemocratic of them!).
The way she wants to change that is by ... rooting for her own countrymen to be defeated in a trade war by said foreign powers, so that her party can get those stupid countrymen under control again.
It's certainly an interesting political strategy! Let's see how it works out for her!
