Does someone need to explain per capita to the mayor of Los Angeles?
Mayor Bass took a familiar tack in this interview by insinuating that a Republican opponent is racist.
Unfortunately for her, National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) statistics are now available at the click of a button.

Marx-adjacent ideology teaches all disparity is wrong, but achieving "equity" also means ignoring disparities that would inconvenience "marginalized" groups. In this case, that means ignoring which demographics commit the most crime in D.C., or if it can't be ignored, spinning the crime statistics as proof of "systemic racism" by police.
Mayor Karen Bass is no stranger to such ideology. She played a leadership role in the 1970s in the Marxist revolutionary group Venceremos Brigade, which helped connect young Americans to the communist regime of Cuba. These connections led to the formation of terror groups like Weather Underground, which committed bombings across the United States, including at the U.S. Capitol and Pentagon, with the expressed goal of overthrowing the government.
Instead of focusing on the issue of solving crime, then, Mayor Bass used the common Marxist tactic of making the issue about skin color.
In doing so, however, her attempt to smear Trump ironically said the quiet part out loud.
In other words, she accidentally told the truth.
