COMEDY IS CANCELED!
The Four Seasons Ball for the Hospital of Regina Foundation booked Rob Schneider for a gig, which took place last weekend on June 1. According to the foundation, the sold-out event raised over $350,000.
I don't know what they were expecting when booking Schneider (he's been an outspoken figure for a long time now), but they ended up cutting his act short over some jokes they didn't like - specifically about pandemic policies, COVID-19 vaccines, and transgender folks.
On Wednesday, the Hospitals of Regina Foundation issued an "unconditional apology" for Schneider's jokes after he was pulled off stage early. The organization said the jokes did "not align" with its values.
They've also scrubbed any mention of Schneider from the foundation's website as if it never happened and as if he wasn't invited to their event, which helped raise a ton of money for the foundation.
We do not condone, accept or share Mr. Schneider's positions, as expressed during his comedy set and acknowledged that in this instance the performance did not meet the expectations of our team.
A decision was, therefore, made to ask Mr. Schneider to end his performance earlier than intended, to which he agreed and immediately left the stage. An unconditional apology was offered right after to our guests and our community. We reiterate this sincere and unconditional apology today, for any offense caused.
If you're going to a comedy show and getting offended, you're probably doing it wrong.
Schneider really is a breath of fresh air. Just a couple of months ago, he spoke to TMZ, stuck to his guns, and called out all the "woke" propaganda.
He truly is a gem in Hollyweird, and we must protect him at all costs!
I'm not changing my material or apologizing for my jokes to anybody. Enough with this woke bulls***, America's sick of it.
America may be sick of it, but sadly, Canada is one seriously unfunny country.
