You simply can't convince me that George Santos isn't a troll who decided to run for Congress, party it up, and then get out while the getting was good.

The House Ethics Committee said in its 56-page report that it uncovered a "complex web of unlawful activity" involving Santos' campaign, personal, and business finances and determined it had "substantial evidence" of the congressman violating federal criminal laws.
Santos has pleaded not guilty to 23 federal charges, which include identity theft, wire fraud, and conspiracy. He has faced calls to resign and so far had survived attempts by colleagues to expel him from the House.
One of the lines from the report:
...the funds were used to, among other things: pay down personal credit card bills and other debt; make a $4,127.80 purchase at [fashion brand] Hermes; and for smaller purchases at Only Fans; Sephora; and for meals and for parking.
And another:
Several other expenditures related to spa services and/or cosmetic procedures could not be verified as having a campaign nexus. For example, during the 2020 campaign, a $1,500 purchase on the campaign debit card was made at Mirza Aesthetics; this expense was not reported to the FEC and was noted as "Botox" in expense spreadsheets produced to the ISC by Ms. Marks. Similarly, the $1,400 charge at Virtual Skin Spa was a campaign debit card purchase that was also described as "Botox" in the spreadsheets produced by Ms. Marks. The ISC also identified an unreported PayPal payment of $1,029.30 to an esthetician associated with a spa in Rhinebeck, New York.
May I remind you that this guy is a Republican who claims to be for conservative values. I'm not sure how casinos, porn, and beauty treatments fit into that.
If he were a character on a sitcom, he might be crazier than Parks and Rec's Jean Ralphio.

Santos responded to the ethics report with a long tweet where he defended himself but also announced he's not seeking reelection.
Everyone who participated in this grave miscarriage of Justice should all be ashamed of themselves.

We are quickly approaching $34 trillion dollars in debt, the government is continuously on the verge of a shutdown, our southern border is wide open, our current President is the head of an influence peddling crime family, and all this Congress wants to do is attack their political enemies
Translation:
I will continue on my mission to serve my constituents up until I am allowed. I will however NOT be seeking re-election for a second term in 2024 as my family deserves better than to be under the gun from the press all the time.
